Dealing with difficult people is something that most of us will experience at one time or another in our lives. We may encounter people who are inconsiderate, stubborn, indecent, unhappy, angry, or passive-aggressive. These encounters may happen only once with an individual, or we may have ongoing issues with people who behave in these ways. How should we act when this occurs? And what should we do when these people are our employees? If difficult interactions are necessary, and we approach those conversations or interactions with a plan, we will likely find that these encounters are easier to handle, and we can have more successful outcomes.

The combination of different personalities in a workplace can often lead to intrapersonal conflict. Situations can arise between individuals that quickly amount to the development of negative relationships. These challenging moments present the need to implement effective conflict resolution strategies. Of course, sometimes the damage has already been done.

To prevent conflicts due to difficult people, organisations can take a proactive approach to improving communications, empowering relationships, and eliminating negative attitudes, by exemplifying professionalism in the workplace.

Our training materials for Conflict Resolution: Dealing With Difficult People give leaders the tools to introduce guidelines for conflict prevention within the workplace. Our training materials for Conflict Resolution: Dealing With Difficult People provide a variety of options for coping with stressful episodes with others. Tips for maintaining assertiveness, and suggestions for simply “getting along” are incorporated in these valuable training materials.

Success in dealing with conflict comes from understanding how we behave, as well as how we can influence others. If we approach difficulties as needing to take place in one or a series of conversations, and we approach those conversations with a plan, we will find that we have less difficult people to deal with. More often than not, we will also have more meaningful and significant conversations. In this one-day workshop, you will learn how to turn difficult situations into opportunities for growth.
